Biometric Data Template is the constructed template that groups together whatever elements a biometric CVM attempt actually needs: the type of biometric being used, the Biometric Solution ID (9F30, covered alongside it here) naming which specific solution applies, and key material the verification process depends on. As a constructed tag rather than a primitive one, it's structurally similar to other grouping templates already covered in this dictionary (the Application Template, 61, or the FCI templates) - a container whose own correctness is entirely about whether it nests its constituent tags properly, not about any value of its own. Because biometric verification touches genuinely sensitive personal data, this template deserves handling discipline comparable to what's already been described for Transaction PIN Data (99, covered earlier): a terminal implementation that logs or retains 7F60's contents beyond what the immediate verification step requires has created a biometric-data-exposure risk that most jurisdictions treat considerably more seriously than a PIN exposure, given how much harder biometric data is to revoke and reissue than a PIN.
