Extended Selection

Extended Selection is directory-entry data Entry Point (the contactless kernel-selection logic defined in EMV Contactless Book B) uses to distinguish between applications or products that share the same AID but that a terminal still needs to tell apart - a single AID no longer guarantees a single, unambiguous product the way it once did, and 9F29 is the field that lets a card's directory entry carry that finer-grained distinction. It's related to the AID itself (4F), the Second Application Identifier Indicator (9F2A, referenced alongside it, which flags when Extended Selection actually needs to be consulted), and the Application Priority Indicator (87), together forming the fuller candidate-selection picture Entry Point builds before handing control to a specific kernel.
